Installation Guide

Before you begin, you need to prepare the recovery media on a Windows PC. You will need a USB flash drive (ensure any important data is backed up, as the drive will be formatted).

1. Go to the official Rufus Website to download the portable application (installation is not required).
2. Download the EverAlly recovery ISO file matching your device model (e.g., Ally, Ally X, Xbox Ally, or Xbox Ally X) to your PC.
3. Insert your USB flash drive into your computer and launch Rufus. Rufus will automatically detect your USB drive under the Device section. Ensure the correct drive is selected.
4. Under Boot selection, click the SELECT button, then browse your computer and choose the recovery ISO file you downloaded.
5. Configure the partition settings: select GPT for the Partition scheme, and leave all other options on their default settings.
6. Click the START button at the bottom. A warning will pop up letting you know all data on the USB will be formatted. Click OK to proceed, and wait for the progress bar to complete and the status to change to READY.

Make sure your ROG handheld is connected to a power source or has at least 50% battery charge before starting the installation.

1. Eject the USB flash drive from your PC and insert it into your ROG handheld.
2. Power off your handheld completely. Then, Power on and when the ROG animation starts press and hold the Volume Up button until the Boot Menu appears.
3. Use the D-Pad of your handheld to navigate and select the USB recovery drive from the boot list, then press the A button to select it.
4. Once the recovery environment boots, it will open the local installer script. Press the A button to start the installation.
