About EverAlly
Understand the problem, check your device, and learn why local recovery matters.
ROG handhelds come with a built-in factory Windows 11 operating system. For the first 1 to 3 years (depending on your region), Asus lets users download this pre-configured OS (a.k.a. factory recovery media or Cloud Recovery), which is stored on Asus's cloud servers. After that window closes, cloud access expires.
EverAlly is a bootable recovery ISO (made from original backed-up Cloud Recovery files) that you create and store locally. It lets you recover your handheld anytime, independently of Asus's cloud infrastructure. Create a bootable USB once, use it forever.
Your device's cloud recovery window isn't always 3 years. Depending on your region and model, it could be 1, 2, or 3 years from purchase. You can find your exact expiration date using your device's serial number.
Steps:
- Locate your device's serial number (usually on the back or in Armoury Crate > General > Device Info)
- Visit Asus support for region-specific recovery info
- Enter your serial number to see your expiration date
- If it's within 1–2 years or you're unsure, create your EverAlly ISO now
Factory recovery media should be available for the entire lifespan of a device—not for a limited period. Hardware doesn't stop working after three years, and software issues can occur at any time. Unlike most OEMs, which provide recovery media for the lifetime of the product, Asus expires access after just one to three years depending on the region.
EverAlly gives you permanent, local control. No subscriptions. No expiration. Just you, your handheld, and a recovery method that works indefinitely.
It's about respecting ownership.
